Biography of the Speaker:

Prof. Chengwei Sun graduated from Peking University in 1963, and then work on many research projects, such as explosive materials, laser radiation effect and shock wave etc, in China Academy of Engineering Physics. He was visiting scholar at Washington State University during 1982-1984. He served as committee member of the National High-tech R & D Program (863 Program) on laser technique project during 1994-2001. Prof. Sun was elected as academician by Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2003. He was an executive member of council of Chinese Physics Society.


孙承纬院士,1963年7月于北京大学力学系毕业后在中国工程物理研究院工作。1982—1984年,在美国华盛顿州立大学物理系任访问副教授、副研究员。1990年起担任博士生导师。1994—2001年,为国家863高技术计划激光技术主题专家组成员。2003年当选为中国工程院能源与矿业工程学部院士。任中国物理学会常务理事等。


孙承纬院士曾长期从事激光辐照效应、应用脉冲功率技术等研究,并从事材料动态响应和高能量密度动力学等基础研究。他提出的激光辐照效应新模式,为激光应用技术做出重要贡献。他为我国的电磁发射、高电压爆磁发生器等做了开创性的研究。他积极参与国内外学术交流,在学科建设、培养青年科技人才等方面颇有建树。孙承纬院士先后撰写科技报告、发表学术论文200余篇,被SCI、EI收录40余篇,出版多部专著。


孙承纬院士曾荣获国家发明奖三等奖1项,国家科技进步二等奖1项及其它部委级科技奖共计50多项。2003年荣获全国“五一”劳动奖章,2001年被评为中国工程物理研究院特等劳模,并获“四川省学术技术带头人”称号。
