HPSTAR First Annual Conference

HPSTAR Annual Conference 2015 was successfully held in Shanghai from June 3rd to June 5th, 2015.

This annual conference aimed to review and discuss individual's research projects. Over seventy of staff members, postdoctoral associates, and students attended the meeting and presented the group-research progress or individual’s work. There were 62 oral reports and 18 posters were presented including very recent achievements, challenges, and breakthroughs in scientific research and experimental techniques.

Dr Ho-kwang Mao, director of HPSTAR, gave the opening ceremony. He summarized the major research achievements of HPSTAR since 2012 and presented the progress in worldwide collaboration in high-pressure science.

“It’s a great opportunity to share ideas and spark collaborations between all HPSTAR members”, said Dr Mao. “We get some excited results and expect much more achievements in the next annual meeting which may be held in Beijing.”

“We encourage freely doing research without outside pressure to pursue your individual scientific dreams,” said Lin Wang and Xiao-Jia Chen, the staff scientists of HPSTAR.
