High Pressure Materials Synthesis and
Characterization (MSC) Lab
Pressure, as an important thermodynamic parameter, plays a remarkable role in tuning materials properties. Many of the altered properties at high pressures are in favor of applications of the materials, e.g. superhard property of the high pressure form of carbon (diamond) and rise of superconducting temperature of cuprates. The MSC Lab enables such materials syntheses andcharacterization using multi anvil press (MAP) and diamond anvil cell (DAC) in the fields of geophysics, materials science and physics/chemistry.
