High Pressure Materials Synthesis and Characterization (MSC)Lab
Pressureas an important thermodynamic parameter plays remarkable role in tuningmaterials properties. Many of the altered properties at high pressures are infavor of applications of materials, e.g.superhard property of high pressure form of carbon (diamond) and rise ofsuperconducting temperature of cuprates and hydrogen sulfide. The MSC Labenables such materials syntheses and characterization using multi-anvil press(MAP) and diamond anvil cell (DAC) in the fields of geophysics, materialsscience and physics/chemistry.

压力是重要的热力学基本参数,所有材料在高压下都表现与常压极为不同的特性。许多高压物性都为人们日常生活及工业应用所青睐,例如碳的高压相(金刚石)的超强硬度、铜基氧化物及硫氢化合物高压下达到的世上最高超导温度。MSC Lab提供多压砧大腔体及金刚石对顶砧压机以实现上述及更广泛的高压合成、原位测试。应用领域包括但不局限于地球物理、材料科学、物理及化学研究。
Academic Activity
Dr. Jinfu Shu will run a DAC training session at Changchun from June 25 to 27. Dr. Jinfu Shu is a DAC-technique expert. He has personally trained several generations of young scientists who have become active leaders in high-pressure research field.
