Xinguo Hong's research involves the pioneering development of high-pressure synchrotron radiation techniques, i.e. HP-XAFS, high-energy X-ray microfocusing, HP-PDF and EOS of non-crystalline materials, and the application of these emerging methods to study the local atomic and electronic structure of materials under high pressure and high temperature.
