New mineral "Maohokite" named after HPSTAR director


A new high-pressure polymorph of megneisoferrite, MgFe2O4 as a new mineral "Maohokite" named after HPSTAR director Ho-Kwang Mao, has been approved by International Mineralogical Association. "Mohokite may have the finest single crystal nano mineral", remarked Prof. Ming Chen, of  Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, CAS. "Mohokite is a very important high-pressure mineral".
