Shear Group (SG)


The superposition of large plastic shear on high pressure drastically changes the microstructure, mechanism, thermodynamics, and kinetics of phase transitions. The rotational diamond anvil cell (RDAC), a modified design of traditional diamond anvil cell (DAC) with the capability to rotate one anvil against the other one about the loading axis at constant force, is an ideal tool to generate large plastic shear at high pressure. Our study involves the use of RDAC to study the effect of pressure and shear on the phase transformation, the lattice disorder, the electrical transport behavior of materials.
